this maybe in the wrong place but would like to know everyone's 1st Ole Miss game to watch in person. Since this is my topic I guess I'll start off.
1st rebel football game to see in person was back in november of 1986. The game was part of a double header day in Jackson with Ole Miss playing Tennessee that morning. Ole Miss was coming off an upset over LSU and I guess looking back they had a let down since UT was not that good that yr.,later that same night I was also lucky enough to get to see LSU play MS. STATE. during that time in my life I hate to say I was a bulldog fan,but hey I was a little kid did not know better.

Glad you found the light lol. My first game was in sixth grade. I don't remember the details, but we had season tickets in those box seats right behind the team. I do remember when we played UGA. My friends and I kept making fun of a cheerleader that couldn't do a backflip, but continuously kept trying. Her guy partner got so mad, he came and tried to grab me. Good times. I'll look up the team when I can get to a computer

1991 against arkansas in jackson, i had no clue how the game worked. I can remember asking my dad what those polls (field goal post) were, lol. I couldn't tell if we were doing good or not, but from the tone my dad took is we won the game but nearly blew it. I did some research and ole miss won the game 24-17. Ole miss started that season 5-1 and ended with a 5-6 record. total colapse. I remember my second game alot better, 92 liberty bowl 13-0 over Air Force

but starting with the Memphis State game in 1990, I've not missed a game...home or away.
First one was probably the 1971 Gator Bowl vs Auburn

1974 vs. Missouri in Jackson...we won 10-0.....the only thing I vaguely remember was watching Michael Sweet (running back)....if I remember correctly, I think he had a pretty good game.

Guess I'm the old fogie here. My first game that I remember was in 1952 when we beat Maryland (the #1 team in America who was supposed to win going away--nobody gave us a chance). All I can remember about the game was that it was high school band day with bands from a lot of high schools there, and some were playing "Rock Around the Clock" over and over. When the game was over, the stadium was going crazy and was so loud you couldn't hear yourself talk. At the very end, I remember the air being filled with cushion seats everywhere (which is what many sat on to make the seats more comfortable). The stadium had a capacity of around 32,000 back then, and every seat was taken. I guess there was a sense among the faithful that we would win that game, and we did. As we left, people were all talking how we just might have the best team in the nation--the first time I ever remember Ole Miss folks using that kind of language. We clearly had the best coach in my mind, and we later proved we were the best IMHO (especially in 1959 when only 21 points were scored against us the entire season, and we were voted in some polls #1 and national champs). Great victory, and that one was at home.

1967 Georgia game in Jackson. We wom 29-20. Bruce Newell was the QB. We had a middle guard by the name of Jimmy Keyes who was also the plackicker. He played a heckuva game. I remember the 1986 LSU game in Baton Rouge that Col Reb referred to. LSU was driving for a last-second field goal to win. It was like a slow death as they moved down the field the last minute to get into position. Their placker, I believe his name was Browndyke, missed wide left from the right hash!!!

My first Rebel game in Oxford was against Hardin-Simmons back in the late 50s.....it was the same year we beat Fla. in the Gator Bowl. My first ever Rebel game to see in person was earlier that same year at old Crump Stadium against Memphis State. We won both games, btw!

Is Crump where Ole Miss and Memphis played before the Liberty Bowl Stadium was built?

I was uber lucky, and my first Ole Miss game, made me a Rebel for life.
My family and I had just moved to Jackson from El Paso, TX for my Fathers' new job. He was working as the plant manager for Morco Foods and was an integral part of the purchasing as well. Upon starting the job, he quickly decided that they needed to obtain their herbs and spices from a source that was a little more economic friendly. That was when he met a Rebel legend in the person of John Dotley. Kayo (as he was also known as) owned a company that could meet the needs that my Father had at the time. As their business realationship grew, so did their friendship, as did the 1983 football season.
Finally, Mr Dotley gave us tickets to the 1983 Egg Bowl. That's right, ladies and gentlemen, my first Ole Miss game was the "immaculate deflection" game. After that game, and an appearence on the front page of the Clarion Ledger, Dad and I were hooked. Of course, he and my Mom are grads of Indiana University, but, from that moment forward Ole Miss football was and still is, a part of our lives.

It is truly a miracle that I am an Ole Miss fan. My first game was the 1998 Egg bowl. If I remember correctly, I think Deuce was out with an injury.
