Anyone remember Paul Hofer? He was one of the greatest.

I remember him well, I wonder what happened to Floyd Franks, Winther, Jernigan, Felts, Bo Bowen, Riley Myers, Vernon Studdard. That was a special team that beat a #3 ranked Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl.

Ye. Hofer was number 36. That guy was at full speed after one step. Played for the 49ers. Believe he took over for Simpson. You mentioned many of Archie's contemporaries. I also remember from that team Buddy Mitchell, Worthy McClure, Billy Coker, Jim Poole at tight end. Worthy had an older brother who played for Ole Miss named Mac. Those were great years. Thanks for the memories.

You may have something. Back when Ole Miss basketball was at its worst, a good Rebel friend told me that everything happens in cycles. Honestly, OM basketball soon took off. With Sesau,Carter, et al. Same thing in baseball and football. What we want is for a major sport to sustain itself for many years. I honestly believe we are in the process.
